In April, 2007, when Tony raised his hand at a meeting of the Historic Fernandina Business Association to ask, “Has anyone ever thought of having a film festival?” Wow, look what happened only a few months later!

The Amelia Island Film Festival’s Inaugural Season has become a reality thanks to so many unpaid committee members, volunteers, students, business partners, media, and panel participants. This total volunteer effort has enabled us to showcase these films with their filmmakers, directors, producers and casts of the 30 plus Official Selections being screened this week.

This week’s festival culminates a year of activities including four highly public supported Sneak Preview screenings, an AIFF Logo and Festival Poster juried contests, several public planning meetings and one fundraiser. There have been so many supportive individuals in the public sector and local businesses that have donated time and resources to bring all of this together.
